YouTube Copyright Assignment
The creator of this YouTube Video did a good job of getting permission to use the song by having a link to sell the song at the bottom of the video. They do mention the song and it's copyright as well.
They also mention every video clip used in the video of which I know they haven't used more than 10%. However, if I understand fair use, it only allows for Educational purposes. I suppose one could argue it is for the good of society as a whole- that it "promotes the arts". People certainly seem to get enjoyment out of it. If I were to make that argument that it could follow copyright laws it would be that by putting all these movies together with the song, people experience a heightened sense of romance between the oral and visual stimulation. The videos prompt them of movies they want to see or see again which may lead to the purchasing or rental of said movie. As it stands though, I think the use of the videos is illegal. The music is fine due to an agreement on YouTube about the use of links for selling the song.
